Spooky Spider Cupcakes

They didn't exactly turn out as beautiful as i was hoping but if they taste good i'm happy. I'm going down to see my brother in Leeds for a few days so thought i would make some cupcakes to get into the festive mood. They look really homemade and not at all professional but oh well...

This recipe makes 12 cupcakes.

Ingredients:

110g Caster Sugar
110g Self raising Flour
2 Eggs
2 tbsp Milk
1 tsp Vanilla Extract

For Decoration:

A Reasonable Amount of Icing Sugar
Decorating Pens
Any Round Chocolate (e.g Maltesers, Pebbles)
Strawberry Laces
Halloween Sweets (i decided not to use these because i liked the spider idea more)

Method:

1.Preheat the oven to 180C and line a 12-hole muffin tin with paper cases

2. Cream the Butter and Sugar together in a bowl until pale. Beat in a egg a little at a time then add the Vanilla extract.

3. Fold in the Flour using a metal spoon and gradually add the milk.

4.Spoon the mixture into the paper cases.

5. Bake in the oven for around 15 minutes.

6. When they are finished baking, leave them out so they can cool. While waiting for them to cool, prepare the icing.

Icing:

1. I didn't measure how much icing sugar i needed, i just guessed. Sift as much as you think is right into a bowl and keep adding water and keep stirring until it is thick enough.

Decoration:

1. Evenly spread out the icing on all the cupcakes.

2. Before the icing dries, stick on your round chocolate.

3. Break up the strawberry laces into little legs and stick them on.

4. With the cake pens draw two little eyes on the body.

I really hoped you liked this post, please tell me if you make them.
